It works under every meteorological condition: the high resolution radar is not bounded by light, visibility, fog, rain or snow;
It is not obtrusive and is easy to maintain: the coverage of the highway requires the installation of poles (maximum ten meters tall) either at the center or at the side of the highway every three kilometers;
The analysis of anomalous events is automatic and selective. It does not require continuous indiscriminate attention of the the operator as it is the case with camcorders, because it generates an alarm when such events occur focussing attention when and where it is needed;
As a network of advanced sensors, it complements other systems previously installed for traffic control and drivers’ information.
